When the rules got tougher, so did the job of screen printers.  Most reversible jerseys and lax uniforms back in 2005 were screen printed.  That means that putting 8 to 10 inch numbers on a jersey is next to impossible.  But with dye sublimation, the process simplifies.  All files that are printed with dye are digital.  So you can make the number or design as big as the pattern for the jersey allows.  An eight inch number can be difficult for a youth small sized jersey.  But on the adult sizes, it is much easier.
