There has been a lot of new lacrosse teams and programs popping up across the globe in the last few years. As a parent or player you should know what to look for when choosing your club. The Bergey boys have been playing and coaching lacrosse fora long time and it is great to see them grow the game so successfully. Its programs like this that you want to be playing for. Be sure to also check out the Bergey summer camps in Pennsylvania. Here are some things to think of when choosing a program.

• Just because the club costs a ton of money does not mean that it is the greatest one out there. Often times, the most committed and successful coaches and programs are the ones that aredoing it for the love of the game, not for the big payday.
• Make sure your coaches have some background, experience and knowledge of the game. I know there is a shortage of coaches in some areas but you still need to confirm thatthe organizer of your club or team understands the fundamentals and basics of the game and is not obsessed with just the win.
• Don’t over do it. I have friends whose children currently play on five or six different leagues at the same time and they are only in 6th grade. There needs to be a balance as any good coach that cares will let you know.
